The Pattern of our thoughts and their effect on our lives.

You see, a lot of believers do have a sense of doom happening to them. A lot of people believe that life is not going to get better. People go about their daily activities expecting bad news or occurrence. Maybe I’m going to get involved in an accident? Or my kids won’t return safely from school? Possibly I’m going to choke on water? Or fraudsters would dupe me of all my money? What makes a person get down to this level of thinking about something bad happening to them? They have a wrong perception of God in their hearts. Or maybe the issues of life have become so overwhelming it has permeated their hearts to the extent whereby those negative things begin to upend the power of God in their lives. This is because the Bible makes us understand that life flows from the heart. Nothing we ever receive can ever come to us if it has not been received at the heart level.

There's a thing called the law of attraction, which means what I think about is what comes to me. Therefore, if I continue to think that something bad is going to happen to me, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. And if I think of good things, then I’d have good things happening to me. In the Book of Genesis 3, God gave Adam the garden of Eden and told him to till and keep it. In our case, the garden of our life is our mind, this means it is our responsibility to keep our minds and hearts. So, you might be thinking, how do I know my heart? Your heart is that place that nobody can ever reach apart from yourself, apart from what you allow into it. Now, remember that the Bible says, as a man thinks in his heart, so he becomes. This means you cannot go above what your heart thinks. It is therefore imperative to fill our thoughts with the promises of God so that the reality we attract to our lives will be positive.

Don't forget that expectation is the womb of manifestation. When I expect something, I will receive something. The Bible makes us understand that hope is the foundation of faith because Hebrews 11:6 says “Faith is the confident expectation of things that we have not yet seen, but we believe that we've received it.” So as we work on changing the pattern of our thoughts into conceiving good, we should expect that we will receive them as we cling to faith.
