Weekly Devotional: The Word abiding in you produces results!

By admin | July 13, 2025

God wants us to be prosperous in our lives and for our lives to be fruitful. This is one of the ways in which our Father’s name is honoured and glorified. There is no way God’s name can be glorified in evil! For example, if a Tsunami wrecks a town, some ignorant person then turns around and says “it is an act of God” but how in the world does that honour and glorify God? People say these things because of ignorance or misinformation.

Jesus in John 15:7-8 has something to say about getting results in our lives! He said: “If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.”

Now, there is a conjunction in these verses above, that is powerful. It is the word “and” and it makes all the difference in how we get results! Jesus said: “if you abide in me and my words abide in you…“ but every believer already abides in Jesus because we are vitally united with Him (1 Cor 6:17) but what about the other part? Which part? ”… and my words abide in you…”
Now that is something that changes the game.. it is possible to abide in Jesus and His words don’t abide in you! And it is when His words abide in you, that you can “ask whatever you will and it shall be done to you”

Now, this is not a message of conditional blessings at all. This is a message that says “all the blessings are already yours but you must know that and lay claim to these blessings before they show up in your life”

How do you lay claim to these blessings that are already yours? Let His word abide in you! How do you do that? Rom 10:6-8 gives a clue. It says..”the righteousness which is of faith says…the word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in the heart.” What does that mean? It means the Word is first in your mouth and then in your heart!

Listen to this carefully: The Word of God becomes engrafted into your heart as you speak it. There is nothing more important to your faith than declaring what God has said about you with your own voice. When you give voice to God’s word out of your own mouth, you are calling for things which God has promised us to manifest in your own life!

The more you repeat confessions out of your mouth, the more faith is built in your heart! 2 Cor 4:13 says that faith as a spirit and that the spirit of faith works this way: I speak what I believe. When your confessions build faith in your heart over a period of time, then your mouth starts to speak what you believe. Now when faith is built in your heart, then the Words of Jesus in John 15:7-8 is easily applied: .. ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.”

So, to get you moving in this confession business, I am inviting you to join the “Confess to Possess 30 day challenge” that I am running in the church. It will fuel your faith to producing results in your own life!
