Day 12: Peace with God

When you hear the word “order”, what normally comes to mind? For me it is “structure”, “arrangement”, “organisation”. A life that is organised reflects an organised mind. God is a God of order so when you see chaos in the world, it can never be from God. Where there is chaos – whether in the home, ministry or business, God is not being recognised as the centre in such scenario.

Why is order important? Because when we are organised, we will achieve a lot more in life. Imagine the time we will save in the morning if we prepare for tomorrow the night before – arranging our work or school files the day before, arranging the children’s uniforms the day before etc. We will not firefight. That is why God desires for us to be organised. Anytime you see an organised person, I show you a person on his/her way to success.

The Lord taught me about this during the Christmas celebration of 2017 when I walked into my study and I saw on the table just before the TV and strewn all over the place - papers, books - basically a mess and though I was looking for something (I can't remember what) but I found it hard to focus - the mess was distracting me. Then I sense the Holy Spirit speak - “This was the state the world was in in the book of creation and I had to bring order to it”. In essence, in order for God to create this beautiful world and cause man to inhabit it, He had to bring order to it first. The first purpose of creation could therefore be declared as “orderliness”. No, wonder, when God finished each act of orderliness, he declared it to be “good” - meaning “this is now fit for its purpose”. I sense also Him saying to me “when you are confused or disorganised, you will lose your focus and vision and it takes longer to achieve what has been planned for you”.

Now, imagine a disorganised world - one where the sun doesn't shine when it is meant to or the rivers have no boundaries. Imagine a universe where the seasons are not regulated, you will agree with me that such a universe will self-destruct - in fact, it will simply become uninhabitable. In Col 2:5, we see the joy Apostle Paul had in seeing such order among the saints at Colosse. God is also pleased when we are organised. We must never credit God for the chaos in the world. He is not responsible. Even if there is chaos in our lives, He is not responsible. The life of God in you always seeks to lead you to the best path for your life.

Find areas in your life where you need to be more organised

List 1 thing that you will do differently about it. E.g filing your tax on time by setting reminders on your phone 2 months ahead

Get an accountability partner who can help check that you are following through on your actions

Father, I thank you that you are an organised God. I am grateful for your Holy Spirit within me who leads me that He is not the author of confusion. Father I commit my goal to become more organised into your hands and I trust that the help and motivation I need to continue are already supplied to me. I receive grace now to be committed to this goal in Jesus name.
