We have received of His fullness

In Col 2:9 and Col 1:19, the bible emphasises how Jesus IS the fullness of God but an amazing declaration is made in John 1:16 and it reads “For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favour upon favour, and gift heaped upon gift]. From this we see that the superabundant blessings, favour and grace God has been bestowed upon believers. This is the mind and the will of God for us even when you don’t feel like a success, you are still blessed.

The Bible says we have received these things already. This may sound shocking to you but this is what the Bible declared. Our job is to find out how we can manifest this blessing, grace and favour in the physical so much so that our neighbours, co-workers, business associates will want what we have. Can a person die of hunger even though His Father is a multi-billionaire? Of course – if he does not know what belongs to him or if he refuses to eat. One of my friends, Michael Oyelere gave an illustration that puts this in context – he said if a baby is being served good food and doted upon constantly by his loving parents but he/she refuses the food, the baby will become malnourished or even die early. This is true for the baby and true for us too. We must freely receive the gift of our Father without any condemnation. We must bask in His love. We must focus our attention on what Jesus has already accomplished by His death, burial, resurrection and ascension. In essence, if Jesus died for it then you qualify for it.

Of His fullness, we have received. God made us exactly like Jesus. What a marvellous love story

In Eph 1:19, the bible declared that the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. How is this possible? 1 Cor 6:17 says “we are one spirit with Jesus because we are united with Him”. You have the same Spirit that Jesus has and your spirit is perfect forever. Romans 8:9 also says you can only be born-again if you have the Spirit of Jesus Christ in you. So, I have a question for you - are you born again? Then you HAVE the Spirit of Jesus. You are identical to Him in the Spirit 100%. This is the reason why the Bible declared us as heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus. What a privilege! If God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and Jesus has the fullness of God, it means you have the fullness of God too in the Spirit. Believe this and acknowledge it (Philemon 1:6) – that is the first step into the miraculous. Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17).

Make this your daily affirmations and you will experience the miraculous. Miracles happen when your heart is fully persuaded of the truth. Shine.

Father, I am sorry that often times when I face challenges, I lose the reality of this truth. Help me to look at life going forward from the lens of what this truth reveals. Thank you for your amazing Gift.
