Day 12: Peace with God
“and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in hea...

When we worry about what to eat and drink, we are not trusting God with our life. How would you feel if your son or daughter constantly have to worry about how you get the school fees paid, or how supper should get on the table? It will be an absurd phenomenon - won’t it?

If your children were to worry about these things, it will grieve your heart - won’t it? As parents, we will rather die than not be able to provide for our own. Any responsible parent will go to any length to ensure his/her dependants can eat and live in a secured environment - don’t you agree?

We KNOW how to give good gifts to our children - or at least we are working towards it.

Well - when we worry about our future especially what we will eat, wear etc, we are saying God is irresponsible and that we can parent better than Him - that we do care more for our children than God cares for us. How absurd does that thinking even sound?

Did you know that God fed Elijah when there was a drought in Israel using ravens? If God can command ravens to feed Elijah, then later fed him through a widow, what can He not do for your needs and provisions? (1 Kings 17, Mathew 7:7-11, Numbers 11).

At times, we desire for God to meet our needs through a predefined channel but God meets our needs through His multi-faceted riches (channels) in glory by Christ Jesus. This means the ways your needs will be met will not be the way you often expect.

imagine the consequences to Elijah if he refused the feeding by ravens or spurn God’s choice of the widow to feed him? He would have died during the serious famine season.

Today, I am asking you not to spurn or reject God’s ways of feeding you. Don’t reject His gifts and His provisions for your life - no matter how and where they come from. Receive His blessings with gratitude.

Remember that worrying does not change things. Worry only leads to anxiety. Trust God to come through for you and He will.
