Imagination conceives the Future

When God showed up to Abraham in Gen 15:1, He said: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” The word for shield is from the Hebrew word that means 'the scaly hide of the crocodile'. It is a word that denotes shield, buckler, defence, protection. and the word for reward is “wages, pay, hire, benefit, compensation, worth”.
God is saying: “Abraham, I am your Protector and Provider. I am your Shield and Compensation. I am your Defence and Worth. I am your Buckler, Benefactor and Paymaster”. In this world, is that not what most people want? Protection first, then wealth next.
Everybody wants security. To be able to live in a place without fear. To be able to close your eyes at night and not have to worry about waking up the next day with your home blown away. People would usually prefer a place of security to a place of wealth. Why? Because if you feel secure, you can become more creative and build wealth again.
But God did not stop there. He said, I am your reward. I am your paymaster. You may be working for someone today or you may be running your business but don’t forget, I am the One who pays you. Now, when the God who owns the universe pays you, when the One the Bible says the cattle on a thousand hills belong to Him pays you, be rest assured that God does not pay on a shoe-string.

Now, this statement of God is crucial because in the context of the passage, Abraham had just let go of the wealth of Sodom and God is saying “I got you, Abraham. I am here for you. I will give you far more than the fleeting riches of Sodom. I will give you the world. I will give you a legacy that will live on after you”
If God shows up to you and says that to you: Would you believe? What would your response be? Well, we know Abraham's response was a bit unimpressive, but God was not upset. No! He helped Abraham to believe in His promises which are invisible to Abraham at that time. How did God do this? He helped Abraham to visualise the future.
What future are you visualising? Don’t get upset that you can’t see the physical manifestation yet. If God promised you, it will happen, but you must co-create with Him by allowing your imagination to embrace what He had shown you.

Watch this short clip and be blessed: https://youtube.com/shorts/IoJt64TGEuM?si=OrwEQf5P5EnkMIdV
