GRACE STEPS: Understanding The Unshakable Security Of Believers

<p>Gen 6:14 NET reads, “Make for yourself an ark of cypress wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch inside and out.” The ark itself is a type of Christ, who withstood God’s judgement on behalf of the world and saved those who trust in Him from such judgement. The word “cover” in that verse in Hebrew is “Kafar” which means "to atone". The pitch covering the ark in and out typifies the blood of Jesus, which is sufficient to satisfy the wrath of God and protect forever those who have trusted in it.</p>

<p>Just like in the days of Noah, GRACE calls and waits for those who will trust in the blood of Jesus to come in. There is no other way outside the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. As Noah’s ark was covered with a pitch in and out that protected all inside the ark from the ferocious flood outside, so has the blood of Jesus covered the believer from any future judgement.</p>

<p>Gen 7:16 says, "The Lord shut them in the ark and closed the door behind them.”. This action typifies how God secures the believer in Christ by the blood of Jesus! That is manifold GRACE at work.</p>

<p>GRACE STEPS: Imagine you are in the ark, and due to turbulence outside hitting against the ark, you tripped and fell. Would you say that you are no longer in the ark? If the ark represents Jesus, what does that tell you about the security of the believer?</p>
