Understanding Your Identity as a Child of God

Rom 8:15-16 TPT says: And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”

Being a child of God is a BIG DEAL. Why? Because it places you in the God-class. In fact, Jesus was crucified for claiming this status. Being God’s child means that you have the privileges and authority that God Himself enjoys. Jesus came to show us the Father-side of God, and as a child of God, God is your Father.

If God is your Father and He owns the whole world, should you not carry a consciousness that ALL things are possible, and that God will never reject you? You are God’s child now, and you will remain God’s child forever! I dare say, your sonship or daughtership in God is irreversible.

Jesus affirmed this in John 10:28–19 when He says: And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

You will never EVER perish, and no one can snatch you out of the Father’s hands.
