How to trust in the unchanging God

Humans love certainty. We don’t usually love changes. We want to control situations. When we are not in control, we feel like a ship lost at sea. One thing that is certain though is this - change is the only thing that is constant. You witness that at seasonal changes. It is a cycle. Winter. Spring. Summer. Autumn. The cycle starts again but as the seasons of your life change, God is giving you one core assurance in Mal 3:6, Heb 13:8 & Heb 13:6: I am the unchanging One - the same in your past, the same in your today and I will remain the same in your unknown tomorrow - and I promise you this - I will always be with you. I will never loosen my grip on your life”

Here is a picture that God gave me.. if you have seen the end of a movie and you are watching with others, you don’t fret and become anxious about the next episode wondering what would happen.. no. You are relaxed because you know what will happen next.

In Christ, we know what would happen next? How am I sure of that? Well, we have the promises of God, His oath and His Holy Spirit within us assuring us that what God has promised us will come to pass.

So, if you are discouraged and on the verge of giving up. Here is a word for you: The God who promised you is dependable and unchanging. His word is His bond. You will receive what you believe for IF you faint not. May God supply the strength of tenacity you need to persevere until your dreams come to fruition in Jesus name.

“Accordingly God also, in His desire to show more convincingly and beyond doubt to those who were to inherit the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose and plan, intervened (mediated) with an oath. This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us]. [Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it–a hope] that reaches farther and enters into [the very certainty of the Presence] within the veil, [Lev. 16:2.]”
