Day 12: Peace with God
βand through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in hea...

Col 2:15 reads βWhen he disarmed the rulers and authorities, he exposed them to public disgrace by leading them in a triumphal parade.β
β¬β¬
To disarm someone is to take their power or weaponry away. Satan has lost the power to rule over your life. This was what Jesus accomplished at Calvary for you and I. Satan has zero power over your life - except the one you give him. He has been defeated.

Not only was the devil defeated, there was a spiritual event that happened at Calvary indiscernible to the physical eyes - the victory parade of Jesus! Jesus exposed the devil and his cohorts to a public disgrace by leading them in a triumphal parade.

The analogy used here is that of a Roman General returning from a conquest on a horse with a celebratory garland around his neck and towing behind him is a bound and defeated foe tied to his horse with no power to hurt anyone. In fact, everyone sees this foe hanging his head in shame.

This is the picture God wants you to see when you think of the devil. The victory of Jesus is yours! You are already included in the victory parade. See the devil for who he is - a defeated foe.
