Righteousness is the ability to stand before a thrice holy God without a sense of guilt, condemnation, shame and inferiority complex. This righteousness of God is all that God demands and approves and is ultimately found in Jesus Christ.

This Jesus, FULLLY met the demands of the justice of God and the requirements the laws of God - on our behalf. Since 1 Cor 1:30 says “Christ is our righteousness”, it means that God sees us righteous as Jesus the very moment we placed our faith in Him. This “seeing us as righteous” paradigm has both legal and accounting ramifications.

Legally, God can’t treat us differently from the way He treats Jesus because Christ is our Substitute and He has legally paid the “sin-debt” on our behalf. By accounting reckoning, the righteousness of God (who is Jesus) has been “ charged” or “credited” into our account. In accounting parlance, we have “righteousness” as a credit transaction in our “spiritual bank account”.

Can you see how powerful this is? With this in mind, you can boldly say “I am the righteousness of God in Christ jesus. I am all that God approves and demands” with no sense of guilt, shame, inferior complex or condemnation. Hallelujah!
