Hope is something that might seem far-reaching or something close for some people. Everyone has things they are looking forward to achieving in life. We have hope for our future. We have hope for our family. Hope for a better life. Hope is a central factor in life. Now, how do we abound in hope and what kind of hope are we talking about?

When the Bible talks about hope, it's talking about hope as the confident expectation of good. Hence, when someone is hopeful, it shows that they are expecting something good to happen. They look at the future and believe that it can be better than now. This is a reflection of God’s desire for us when He says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

It’s possible that one is losing or has lost hope about a situation. Maybe it is about marriage. Or your job or business. Probably, you are yet to conceive. Whatever dead situation has been long-standing and you’ve been thinking how to get through. I want you to know that no matter how bad it is, God is able to bring them back to life. This is because He is the one who calls those things that be not as though they were.

Your responsibility is to make sure that you keep hope alive. To abound in hope, two factors are necessary; joy and peace. Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.” (AMPC). We see that God is the giver of joy and peace, and as we embrace these, we are able to abound in hope. Today, choose hope above everything else.
