Day 16: Eternal life is yours, now! Not when you get to heaven!

There was a time when I was not sure of my standing in Christ. I used to think that one little mistake, then I am not going to make it. It is a terrible feeling not to be sure of your eternal resting place. If you are born again and you are still filled with the dread of not being certain where you will spend eternity, let this scripture settle it in your heart:

“I’ve written this letter to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you will be assured and know without a doubt that you have eternal life.” 1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭TPT‬‬. The EASY translation of the same text reads: “….I want you to know that you have true life with God for ever.” The AMP version reads:”…so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life.”

You already have true life with God forever. Be assured and know without a doubt that you have eternal life - now! Your standing in God should never be subject to guess work or uncertainty. God did not lie when He said that. He wants you to know it and believe His testimony of your standing in Christ.

“This is what God has told us: God has given us life with him that never ends. We receive this life when we believe in his Son, Jesus. So whoever belongs to the Son has this true life. But anyone who does not belong to the Son of God does not have this true life.” 1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭EASY‬‬

Have you ever second guessed your salvation? Let this text settle in your heart that God has given you eternal life and that life is in His son. If you have the Son, you have eternal life! Period!
